Scene It- Shutter Island

I always feel guilty for saying this but I hated this film. Okay, not hated, just really didn't enjoy, or see the reason for the hype. With an in your face obvious plot from the start (or maybe that's just me?) I didn't see the reason in watching the rest. I was told you were supposed to know the plot, and the film was just an 'emotional journey'. I'm not buying it.

The plot's simple. Shady mental hospital on an island, missing patient. I expected it to be a lot more scary than it was. There was a negative chill factor on this one, as well as a negative awesome factor.

So for this blockbuster, I'm giving it a 1/10.

It gets a 1 because it was actually made.

Scene It- House

No, I'm not talking about the tv series, I'm talking a 2008 film. It's you're average horror film. Scary house+people. To be honest, I didn't find this film gripping, nor scary. It's one of those films that doesn't really bring anything new to the table, sadly. To be honest, there is nothing more to say about this film, so I'll just rate it and move on.

4/10 from me!

Scene It- Predators

This 2010 sequel to the sci fi series brings a different tone than all the films before. Dumped on a alien planet, 8 strangers find themselves the latest game for the predators. This film is slow moving at first. It is more realistic in my opinion, with the strangers quickly using their skills to figure out the horrific truth of their situation. Instead of the usual mindless killings, these predators have a game plan. It is hunting season after all.

Generally, that's the plot. It's defiantly slower moving than I'd expected, but it does get points for having a beefed up Adrien Brody as the leading man. While not everyone's cup of tea, it gets a 7.1 on IMDB, making it a higher rater than films like the Karate Kid, Eclipse and The Last Airbender.

From me it gets a 7/10.
